Series 9 Finale, Solar Power & Saying Goodbye to a Great Voice

This week comes with a deep sense of reflection.

We’re wrapping up Season 9 of Cut Through the Noise, sharing new insights on Let’s Go Green, and pausing to honour the memory of Manchán Magan, whose passing on Friday last has left many of us feeling shocked and heartbroken.

I first met Manchán many years ago while recording an episode of Life and Times for Midlands 103. I was nervous, driving out to his hand-built home in rural Westmeath; but what I found was a cocoon of calm, a home built gently into the land, and a man whose generosity of spirit matched the magic of the place. His intellect, warmth, and unwavering love for the Irish language and landscape stayed with me ever since.

As President Michael D. Higgins noted, Manchán made an immeasurable contribution to Irish language and culture. He opened our collective heritage to more people than we could have imagined.

Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis.

🌿 In4Green Business Networking Event — Highlights

Last week, I had the pleasure of hosting the In4Green event in Navan, Co. Meath, in partnership with Meath County Council’s Climate Team, Meath LEO, and the Meath Chamber.

Held at the new Thrive Centre of Business Excellence, the event brought together five powerful voices from across Irish industry:

We explored what sustainable leadership really looks like in practice, from waste reduction and decarbonisation to community engagement and renewable energy projects.

As a Carbon Literacy Certified communications coach, I was proud to facilitate this conversation and hear firsthand the challenges, creativity and collaboration behind greener business models.
