Why You Should Be Sharing Your Success

Series 7 of Cut Through the Noise is officially launching next Tuesday, April 1st, and I’m kicking things off with a solo episode all about something I believe many of us need to hear:

It’s time to stop holding back—and start sharing your success.

Too often, I see business owners, professionals and creatives hesitate when it comes to talking about their work. Maybe you’ve thought:

“I don’t want to come across as boastful.”
“What if someone thinks I’m showing off?”
“Is it really that important to post about this?”

And worse still, I’ve seen people stay silent because they’re afraid—afraid of being misunderstood, judged, or even cancelled. Especially here in Ireland, where we’re often raised to let our work “speak for itself,” it can feel uncomfortable to show up and talk about what we do.

But in 2025, staying quiet can mean staying invisible.

In our first episode of Cut Through the Noise this series, I explore three key reasons why sharing your success isn’t just okay—it’s essential.

1. Visibility Builds Trust

If people don’t know what you’re working on, how can they refer you? How can they support or buy from you?

We often think we’re being humble by staying quiet—but in a noisy world, silence often leads to being overlooked. Your audience, clients, collaborators, and even your peers need consistent visibility to understand not just what you do—but how and why you do it.

And when they do, they’re far more likely to trust you and your work.

Think of sharing your success not as self-promotion, but as service. You’re giving others the chance to learn from you, connect with you, or even feel inspired by your journey.

2. The Fear of Criticism Can’t Be the Reason You Stay Silent

We’ve all seen it—people being taken out of context, called out online, or misunderstood in the comment section. It’s a very real fear. And yes, we need to be mindful of what we share and how we say it.

But avoiding communication altogether isn’t the answer.

If your message is grounded in integrity and you communicate with care, the risk of backlash is far lower than you think. It’s not about being perfect—it’s about being thoughtful, professional, and consistent.

Lead with clarity. Know your message. And don’t let fear silence your voice.

3. Your Story Can Inspire Others

Representation matters.

You might not realise it, but simply showing up and sharing your story could give someone else the confidence to do the same. Especially if you’re someone who hasn’t always seen yourself reflected in your industry—your visibility matters.

If you’re a woman in business, someone from a marginalised community, or if you’ve taken a non-linear path, your story isn’t just valid—it’s valuable.

When you communicate your wins, your challenges, and your process, you’re not just growing your business—you’re leading by example.

Let’s Reframe the Question

So, the next time you’re second-guessing whether to post on LinkedIn, send out that email, or talk about your latest project, I want you to ask yourself this:

“Am I giving people a chance to see the value I bring?”
Not: “Am I showing off?”

Because your work deserves to be seen.
And more importantly—your voice deserves to be heard.
