Guest On Ireland AM – Discussing the Week’s Biggest Stories

I was delighted to return to the Ireland AM couch last Sunday to discuss the latest news headlines.

We unpacked:
▶️ The ethics of media coverage – Is there such a thing as too much information when reporting on sensitive topics like the Pope’s health?

▶️ The diplomatic challenge facing the Taoiseach as he prepares to meet both Trump, and how communication plays a crucial role in navigating high-stakes political encounters.

It was a great discussion, and as always, great to chat with fellow contributors.

Workshop Success – Communicating Your Sustainability Credentials

This week, I had the pleasure of delivering a workshop at The CUBE, Portlaoise, focusing on how businesses can effectively communicate their green and sustainability credentials.

A huge thank you to Caroline Hofman and the team at The CUBE – Low Carbon Centre of Excellence for hosting and for creating a space where micro-businesses and SMEs can develop their sustainability strategies.

During the session, we explored:
✅ The importance of clear, authentic sustainability communication
✅ How to avoid greenwashing and build trust with customers
✅ Using storytelling, PR, and marketing to amplify sustainability efforts
✅ Leveraging certifications and partnerships to strengthen credibility

It was inspiring to work with so many business owners who are genuinely committed to improving their sustainability messaging. I’m looking forward to seeing their progress and continued impact.

This Week on Let’s Go Green – Energy, Community Action & the Global Waste Crisis

This week on Let’s Go Green on Midlands 103, we’re tackling some of the biggest sustainability issues affecting Ireland and beyond.

Conor O’Carroll (TheJournal.ie) joins me to break down the Commission for Regulation of Utilities (CRU) latest proposal on how data centres will meet their energy demands. As Ireland works to balance energy security and sustainability, we’ll explore the potential impact on the grid and the wider public.

Martina Martin (Tullamore Cycling and Touring Club) discusses her club’s passion for cycling and community spirit—but also shares a troubling discovery: illegal dumping in the Slieve Bloom Mountains. We’ll discuss the environmental impact of waste and what can be done to tackle this issue.

Caroline O'Doherty (Irish Independent) unpacks Waste Wars – The Scandalous Afterlife Of Your Trash by Alexander Clapp. This eye-opening book exposes the hidden world of the global waste trade, revealing where the world’s trash really ends up and the devastating environmental consequences of our throwaway culture.

📻 Tune in Monday at 7 PM on Midlands 103, or catch the podcast anytime on your preferred platform.

Let’s Go Green is proudly sponsored by EirGrid Group, supporting vital conversations about sustainability and environmental responsibility in Ireland.
