Well-being, Storytelling & the Power of a Good TEDx Talk
🎙️ This Week on CTTN: Leading with Clarity, Care & Boundaries
This week on Cut Through The Noise, we’re continuing our focus on internal communications—and asking the question: what does well-being really look like at work?
I was joined by Andrea O’Grady, founder of The Wellness Edge, for a reflective and practical conversation about how we work, how we lead, and how we take care of ourselves and each other.
We talked about:
Why leaders must prioritise well-being for their teams
How movement supports productivity and creativity
The importance of knowing when to say no
And why we need to normalise regular breaks in our workday
“Even though leadership has a responsibility to look after their employees, it’s a two-way street. We have to communicate our concerns, our boundaries, and our needs in order to be heard and supported.”

🎤 TEDx Stormont with PSA – A Day to Remember
I had the privilege of attending TEDx Stormont recently, and it was an inspiring reminder of the power of storytelling, well-told. From the historic setting of Stormont to the calibre of speakers and the energy in the room—it was a day that will stay with me for a long time.
The talks were bold, challenging, and incredibly well-crafted. A few personal highlights included hearing from Fergal Keane, Declan Lawn, and Tahnee McCorry—and reconnecting with colleagues from the Professional Speaking Association made the experience all the richer.
“The power of a single idea, well told, really can change the world.”
📣 PSA Ireland – June 2025 Event: Expand

This month, I’ll be hosting a panel on Speaking at TEDx, alongside Camilla Long, Brian Boyle, Colm O’Brien and Ashleigh Tobin. If you’re curious about what it really takes to get on that red dot, we’ll be breaking it all down with practical, behind-the-scenes insights.
We’ll also hear from two excellent international speakers:
🎭 Lise Kaye-Bell – Bringing Stories to Life
Learn how to create compelling stories through vivid language, emotion, and character.
🎤 Darren Harris – Stage Time, Stagecraft and Stage Presence
Walk away with a 3-step plan for getting more stage time and building your authority as a speaker.
💬 Conversations That Matter: Inside IMAGE’s Celebration of Women in Business
On Tuesday evening, I attended Beyond the Awards, an IMAGE Business Club event that brought together some of Ireland’s most inspiring female leaders. It was a powerful evening of reflection, honesty and insight.
From social impact to international business, the stories shared on stage were thoughtful, real, and full of lessons for any business owner or leader navigating change and growth.
One of my personal highlights? A chat with Aimee Connolly, CEO & Founder of Sculpted by Aimee, who spoke candidly about the challenges and triumphs of growing a values-led business in today’s market.
Events like these are a great reminder that behind every success story is resilience, vulnerability, and more than a few learning curves.
🌍 This Week on Let’s Go Green – Climate Risks and Data Centres
On Let’s Go Green this week on Midlands 103, we’re taking a closer look at the climate risks facing Ireland and the role of technology and infrastructure in our environmental future.
I spoke with:
Dr. Connor Quinlan of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), about their new report on how climate change is impacting everything from weather to biodiversity and infrastructure.
Connor O’Carroll of The Journal.ie investigates, who discussed his recent mapping of data centres across Ireland—and what their growth means for energy use and local planning.
