Frontline Impact, TEDx Insights & The Future of Transport

🎧 Cut Through The Noise – The Frontline Effect

This week’s episode is a solo episode, where I share something I call The Frontline Effect—why your team is your brand, and how clear, compassionate internal communication is the foundation of strong external reputation.

We talk about:

  • Why good customer service starts with internal clarity

  • The hidden cost of poor communication

  • My own experience dealing with difficult customers—and how I handled it in a way that protected the brand

  • The importance of supporting your frontline team, especially when they’re the first point of contact in tough situations

“Your frontline workers are your biggest brand ambassadors, and they often receive the brunt of the load when things go wrong.”

🗣️ Insights from the TEDx Unravelled Panel at PSA Ireland

Last weekend I had the pleasure of moderating the TEDx Unravelled panel at the Professional Speaking Association Ireland event—and I’m still thinking about the powerful insights that were shared.

The wider theme of the day was Expand – Deepen Your Impact as a Speaker, and it really delivered on that promise. I was joined on stage by Camilla Long, Colm O., and Ashleigh Tobin, each of whom spoke with honesty and clarity about what it really takes to step onto the TEDx red dot. From the prep to the pressure, the stories behind the talks were just as inspiring as the talks themselves.

One of the things I value most about the PSA is the sense of camaraderie and generosity. There’s a genuine willingness to share, support, and grow together—and that’s something I’ve found to be true at every event.

I also want to highlight the excellent sessions from:

  • Darren Harris, whose take on stage presence and storytelling left a lasting impression, and

  • Lise Kaye Bell, whose session on recognising red flags in relationships offered both personal and professional food for thought.

Each event this year is curated by our dedicated PSA Ireland President, Aoife Gaffney, and it’s been a privilege to take part.

If you’re a speaker, business owner or communicator looking to grow in skill, confidence, or connection—I can’t recommend PSA enough.
If you’d like to find out more, feel free to drop me a DM.

🎥 Thanks to Eoghan Connelly for capturing the panel so well.

🛴 Inspector Ralph Holmes of An Garda Síochána, who spoke about the rise of e-scooters, evolving road safety rules, and what both drivers and pedestrians need to know.

🔌 Martin O’Neill of Carzone.ie, who made the case for a national EV scrappage scheme to help make switching to electric more accessible for Irish drivers.

📻 Tune in Monday nights at 7pm or listen back anytime on your favourite podcast app.
