Digital Boundaries & Thought Leadership

The latest episode of Cut Through The Noise is now live

This week I sat down with Samantha Kelly, founder of Social Media Fest, to talk about something that’s been coming up more and more lately—setting digital boundaries and being intentional about what you share online.

We covered:

  • Why your content should align with your brand values

  • How to decide what’s worth responding to online (and what’s not)

  • The impact the content you consume can have on your mindset and your business

  • And how to draw the line when it comes to oversharing

“You can’t live your life in fear of what others will say. As long as you create content that’s in line with your values and your brand, you’re on the right path.”

A few words about Social Media Fest...

Social Media Fest 2025 took place yesterday and, as always, it was a fantastic day of learning, connecting, and sharing ideas.

I was delighted to speak on a panel alongside Regina Mangan and James Sweetman, where we explored what it really means to be a thought leader—and why visibility matters, even when it feels a bit uncomfortable.

One message I shared (and it seemed to resonate) was this:

If you wouldn’t go to someone for advice, you don’t need to take their criticism on board either.

There were lots of valuable conversations happening throughout the day on everything from building community to podcasting, SEO, creating lead magnets, and turning followers into clients. Hats off to Samantha and the team for curating such a strong programme.

Here is a little video snippet of me speaking about the challenges in business.

This week on Let’s Go Green…

On Let’s Go Green this week on Midlands 103, we turned our attention to sustainability in farming and the events industry.

  • Kenneth Gill, a beef farmer from Offaly, joined me to share how he’s working with nature while still running a viable business.

  • Then Caroline O'Doherty, Environment Correspondent at the Irish Independent, gave us a preview of an upcoming summit focused on making festivals more environmentally friendly—from waste reduction to greener energy.

You can listen back on your usual podcast platform, or catch it live every Monday at 7pm on Midlands 103.
